Dine Together

I went the Mexican restaurant today with many classmates and 3 students in Grade 12. Before we arrived at the restaurant, we had felt so excited because it is our first time to dine together. We chose a restaurant called Taco on Zhujiang Road.
It was a very cold day. When we got into the restaurant, it was so warm. It was like in our own homes. The restaurant was a little caliginous. There were few people enjoying their dinner. The waitresses gave us some pieces of paper to write down the dishes we want to order. I chose a colorful dish and a plate of cake. Lovie, Edward and I ordered a plate of pizza together. The dishes were so beautiful on the menu. It made me hungry.
10 minutes later, my cake was coming. There was a heart on my cake. The pattern on the cake was very cute. I was so hungry that I finished eating my cake quickly. Other people’s dishes were coming in succession. My classmates’ food looked so cute and delicious too. When my nice and colorful food came, I was very happy. It was very delicious and I will not forget my best choice.
We enjoyed our dinner and we chatted together. We all thought our dinner was good and memorable. During my dinner, I saw around Taco. There were a lot of funny and Mexican sculptures all in the restaurant. Christmas was coming, on the gate of Taco, there was a sculpture of Father Christmas. We felt a Christmas’s atmosphere. We asked the waitress to take photos for us and we left a beautiful scene in Taco.

The Church

Last week, Ms.Bartell asked us to go to the church on the Mochou Road with her. I was very excited because I have not been to the church. In my memory church is a very mystery and heavenly place in the world.
Ms.Bartell said we would meet at 1.30 pm. So before 1.30 pm, I was so nervous that I did not what I should do. When I got off the bus, I saw a small but beautiful western style building with a crucifix on the top .I said to myself, it is so nice building, I have not seen it before. I met many classmates and we had talked about the church for a long time. We all thought that the church is very small but it has so many western and religious things inside.
The ceremony started with some religious music. I did not what they were singing because I do not get religion. However, I was so glad to enjoy the music. I can take the feeling of the Christian’s. I saw many foreigners are sitting on the seat and enjoying the performance. I know they may be the Christian’s, so they know the performance very well.
My classmates and I were very curious about the religious things. We looked around in the church and find many differences between the church and some Chinese buildings. There are many colorful patterns on the windows. I know it from some western movies. I think the representation of the church must be the crucifix. Every Christian’s wears this on their necks. They often make a cross on their chests.
After the performance, I left the church. We all took the photos on the gate of the church. There are some Chinese words on the gate of the church. It is 莫愁路基督教堂.It means Christian’s on the Mochou Road.
It is memorable experience in my life. It is my first to be the church. I will not forget the experience.

ST On last Monday a landscape architect Zhao Bing came to GCA and gave all of the Grade 10 students an interesting speech.Zhao Bing is the vice professor of Nanjing Forestry University.

The landscape garden is konwn as people all over the world.The most famous landscape garden is Suzhou landscape garden.There are plenty of landscape gardens in Suzhou like Zhuozheng Garden,Wangshi Garden and so on.

At first,Mr. Zhao showed us a video about landscape gardens.After about 10 minutes,he started his attractive talk.He used some poems in China and pictures.We listened carefully and learned a lot of konwledge about the Chinese classical tradition.The style in Suzhou is very different from the landscape garden in nothern China.Mr.Zhao said that the style of landscape gardens in northern China is very strong,for example the Palace Museum.It is a huge and well-konwn landscape garden in north of China.

Zhao Bing also told us how to appreciate the beauty of landscape garden.He combined the beautiful photographs.When he showed the PPT pictures to us,we shouted.We were surprized to see such the wonderful view of beauty.

From many pictures I saw the pond or stream in the landscape gardens is very common.There are many big orange golden fish in the water.There are also a pair of mandarin ducks on the water.It is a poetic picture.

Suzhou Classical Gardens are the symbol of Chinese traditional gardens.The number of stelae in the Lingering Garden has never been surpassed by any other gardens in Suzhou.Superbly inscribed with the works of more than a hundred calligraphers in the Jin,Tang,Song,Yuan,Ming ,and Qing Dynasties, these invaluable stelae bring to light the evolutionary course of Chinese calligraphy in the past 1,000 years. The whole garden possesses with pride 42 rooms and halls , a 670-meter-long roofed walkway,200 lattice-windows of different kinds, 44 parallel couplets and stone carvings , 373 stelae,and 17 such valuable old trees as gingkoes,southern wistaria,etc. which fall into 8 catalogues.

Zhuozheng Garden is the most famous garden in Suzhou.I have been to Zhuozheng Garden.It is very big garden with a huge reservoir.

After Mr.Zhao's talk,I knew the styles of the Chinese landscape gardens and how to enjoy them.
